Prof. George Agyei, Ph.D

Prof. George Agyei is a distinguished Mining Engineer and academic leader with over two decades of experience in mining engineering education, strategic institutional development, and professional practice. He currently serves as a Professor and Head of the Mining Engineering Department at the University of Mines and Technology (UMaT), Tarkwa, Ghana. He also holds the position of CEO of the African Institution of Mining Professionals and Practitioners (AfIMPP), where he plays a key role in shaping advanced academic programmes in mining and allied engineering disciplines.
Prof. Agyei holds a Doctor of Technical Sciences degree in Mining Engineering from Instituto Superior Minero Metalurgico, Cuba, and an MBA in General Management from Educatis University, Switzerland. His leadership competencies span academic governance, industry collaboration, research development, and curriculum innovation.

Dr. Eric Gyimah

Eric Gyimah (PhD) is a lecturer in the Department of Environmental and Safety Engineering with a strong academic and professional background in environmental science and engineering. He is actively engaged in public education and sensitization on environmental stewardship and provides training on sustainable practices in artisanal and small-scale mining.
His expertise spans environmental monitoring and human health risk assessment of potentially toxic elements, environmental ecotoxicology, and ecological assessment of heavy metals. His research interests also include environmental geochemistry and hydrogeochemistry, land rehabilitation, climate change adaptation, occupational hygiene, and occupational health and safety.
Dr. Gyimah holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry (2012) and a Master of Philosophy in Analytical Chemistry (2017) from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Ghana. He earned his PhD in Environmental Science and Engineering in 2020 from Jiangsu University, China.
