On Friday, July 18, 2024, the Executives of the West Africa Cooperatives Networks paid a courtesy visit to the Western Regional Minister, Hon. Joseph Nelson. The meeting aimed to introduce the organization and its objectives to the Minister.
The WACoN delegation consisted of:

- Dr. Eric Gyima, Chairman of Education Committee and Training Committee
During the discussion, Hon. Joseph Nelson welcomed the cooperative business model, noting its alignment with the NDC government's initiative to promote sustainable artisanal small-scale mining through mining cooperatives. He encouraged the Network to collaborate with relevant stakeholders to achieve its goals, emphasizing the importance of partnerships in driving progress.
The meeting highlighted the Minister's support for the cooperative model in promoting sustainable mining practices and his commitment to working with key stakeholders to achieve development objectives.
